Nawaz Sharif named as a murder suspect
August 29 , 2014
Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, has been named as a murder suspect by police.
Sharif and 20 other people, including his brother, are suspects in the deaths of 14 protestors in June.
Tahir ul-Qadri, a cleric who has been spearheading protests against the government, wants Sharif to face murder charges and be investigated for terrorism.
However, in order to proceed further in the case, police officers need evidence that is incriminating.
It is not clear if Qadri will call off the protests after the latest developments.
