Morsi meets first foreign diplomat since his ouster
July 31 , 2013
Mohammed Morsi is said to have met a European Union's top diplomat at midnight in order to discuss a peaceful end to Egypt's bloodshed and political unrest. Catherine Ashton, the EU's foreign affairs and security police chief said they had a "very long and in-depth conversation."
The conversation reportedly lasted for two hours.
Ashton also met other political figures in Egypt during her visit to the country and said she wasn't there to help Morsi break out. "First of all, we are here to help," she said. "The people of Egypt will determine their own future."
The foreign diplomat said Morsi is in good health and she tried to inform his family of the same.
