Mnangagwa to step into Mugabe's shoes after his resignation

Emmerson Mnangagwa is to be named the next president after the resignation of Robert Mugabe, who ruled Zimbabwe for 37 long years. The resignation, which was stated as voluntary, immediately led to a halt in the impeachment process, that was going on against him. The end of Mugabe rule was met with the nation-wide celebrations. Many hoped to see a new atmosphere in the country with fair and free elections.
