Militant linked to Benghazi attack killed in Iraq, says Pentagon

A US air strike has reportedly killed an ISIS (Islamic State) militant who played a role in the Benghazi attacks of September 2012 that killed the US ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.
Ali Awni al-Harzi, a designated terrorist according to the US, was killed on June 15 in the Isis-controlled city of Mosul in Iraq, according to the Pentagon.
American officials had blamed the 2012 attack on the US diplomatic compound in Libya on al-Qaeda-affiliated militants.
A Pentagon spokesperson said that Harzi’s death would degrade Islamic State’s ability "to integrate North African jihadists into the Syrian and Iraqi fight”.
