London Bridge Knife Attacker Kills 2, Injures 3 Others

  • The British police have shot down a knife-wielding man (identified as 28-year old Usman Khan) at London Bridge on Friday, after he stabbed 2 persons to death in London and injured 3 others. The law enforcement officers shot the suspect dead after some civilians restrained him. The authorities have called it a terrorist attack. Usman Khan had started the rampage at Fishmongers’ Hall near London Bridge at 13:58 GMT on Friday. Reports say that Usman was earlier convicted of offence related to Islamist terrorism (reportedly plotted bombing the London Stock Exchange) back in 2012. He was released from the prison a year back (December 2018) after he agreed of wearing an electronic tag. Reports say that the London Bridge attacker was released half-way through a 16-year prison sentence. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that convicts must serve the full sentence period.
