Liberia shuts most border crossings to check Ebola outbreak
July 29 , 2014
Most Liberian border crossings have been shut and communities facing an Ebola outbreak are likely to be quarantined as attempts are made to stop the deadly virus from spreading.
At select major entry points that remain open, all visitors will be screened.
Arik Air, Nigeria largest's airline, has announced suspension of all flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The virus has already killed more than 650 people in West Africa since February. Ebola has no cure and fatalities are as high as 90%. But patients who receive early treatment have better chances of surviving.
