Liberia declared Ebola-free by WHO

  • Liberia appears to have won the battle against Ebola, at least for now.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), the west African nation has been declared free of the deadly virus. The WHO has announced that the country saw no new cases of Ebola in the past 42 days.

The outbreak claimed over 4,700 lives in Liberia, which was the worst-affected nation last year.

The last case of Ebola in Liberia was a woman from greater Monrovia who died in the last week of March.
