Leslie Van Houten's Parole turned down for the 20th time

  • Leslie Van Houten, who is serving a life sentence for murder and is the youngest Manson follower convicted of killing Leno La Bianca and his wife Rosemary back in 1969, has been denied parole for the twentieth time. Relatives of her victims released a petition against the parole which was signed by 140,000 people. California Governor Jerry Brown denied a parole for 66-year-old Leslie, who committed the crime at the age of 19. She is considered the most sympathetic of Manson, who believed a race war called "Helter Skelter", after a Beatles song, would start after the killings.
