Lebanon holds day of mourning after deadly bombings in Beirut
November 13 , 2015
Lebanon is holding a day of national mourning after more than 40 people were killed in twin suicide bombings in the capital Beirut.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks in the Shia-dominated suburb of Burj al-Barajneh. The area is also known to be a stronghold of Hezbollah, whose forces are fighting Islamic State in Syria.
The blasts are the deadliest in Beirut since the Lebanese civil war ended 25 years ago. Prime Minister Tammam Salam has appealed for unity.
