Kidnappers free Qatari royal in Iraq

  • A Qatari royal family member, who was abducted along with a Pakistani national in December, has been freed by the kidnappers in Iraq. The pair was kidnapped in December from a desert hunting party near the Saudi border. According to media reports, the pair was among 28 people abducted and was held in captivity for nearly four months. The foreign ministry of Qatar said in a statement that efforts are on to free the other 26 kidnapped people.
