Kenya election: Commission says that the system was not hacked

  • The electoral commission of Kenya has denied claims made by opposition leaders that its information technology (IT) system was hacked so that the results of the elections held on August 8 could be manipulated in favour of the ruling party. Ezra Chiloba, the chief electoral officer, has informed the reporters that at no point were the systems compromised in any way. His comments were preceded by Raila Odinga, a presidential candidate, who rejected the provisional results that showed a huge lead for the incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta.
