Italian Govt Tightens Rules After Surge in COVID-19 Cases

On the receiving end in the first phase of COVID-19 early this year, Italy has again decided to take strong safety measures amid a surge in COVID-19 cases. PM Giuseppe Conte said the measures were needed "to avoid a new lockdown" the government has taken this decision after the increase in the infection rate for the second successive day. A total of 11,705 new cases was recorded on Sunday, beating the previous day's record of 10,925.
