Israel attacks Gaza for fifth day

  • Israel continued to shell Gaza from the sea and air for a fifth consecutive day on Sunday.

According to the Israeli army, eight rockets had been fired from Gaza since midnight, three of which hit Israeli territory.

Israel is ready to "significantly expand" its attack on Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

Two rockets fired from Gaza were intercepted and destroyed by the Iron Dome missile shield.

However, one rocket from Gaza, which hit a house in Ashkelon, did result in injuries and damage.
