Islamic State commander Killed
May 28 , 2016
Islamic State Group’s Maher Al–Bilawi was killed in Falluja, a besieged Iraqi city. He was among the 70 militants killed in coalition air strikes. Almost 20 strikes had been carried out in the past four days. As many as 50000 civilians remain trapped in the city, with UN Reports of people dying of starvation and being killed for refusing to fight for the US. The assault is being carried out by a combined force comprising thousands of Iraqi troops, Sunni tribal fighters and the federal police. Falluja was captured by the Islamic State way back in 2014.
