Iran's nuclear program: Cautious optimism over deal as deadline extended

  • The United States and Iran said they were confident of reaching an agreement over Tehran's nuclear program after they agreed to a seven months’ extension to the negotiations, according to media reports.

    Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s president, indicated that a deal was not far, but John Kerry, the US secretary of state, cautioned that disagreement over several points remained.
