Instagram Founders Quit the Firm

  • Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom, the co-founders of the Instagram, have decided to call it quits. Systrom, who has been the chief executive of the giant photo sharing social networking service, has given his reason as to ‘explore our curiosity and creativity.’ The platform, which was bought by Facebook in 2012 for US $ 1bn, currently has over a billion users.

Their departure was quite sudden. There also have been reports of tension brewing between the Facebook's leadership and Instagram's co-founders. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has commented on their exit, stating that “I've learned a lot working with them for the past six years and have really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to seeing what they build next.”
