Indonesia AirAsia crash: Underwater probe to begin
January 2 , 2015
The hunt for AirAsia flight that crashed into the Java Sea and met its fate is set to shift underwater as an international team with acoustic devices reached the crash site on Friday, January 2, according to media reports. The investigation team from France will use every possible hi-tech detection equipment to locate the black box of flight QZ8501. ( France Map )
Since the search operation is continuously hindered by bad climate conditions and rough seas, only eight bodies have been located so far and brought to the shore.
The head of Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency, Rear Marshal Henry Bambang Soelistyo said, “bad weather was a worry, with forecasts of rain, strong winds and high waves up to four metres till Sunday.”
