Hurricane Odile hits Mexican tourist resort

  • Western Mexico’s Los Cabos coastal resort has been hit by Hurricane Odile, disrupting the plans of thousands of tourists and uprooting trees.

    The category three storm made landfall on the Baja California peninsula’s southern end.

    An alert has been issued, with warnings of possible storms, floods, and landslides. Mexican authorities have also prepared a shelter that can house thousands of people.

    More than 26,000 foreign tourists are believed to be present in the area, reports said.
