August 27 , 2017
Tropical Storm Hurricane Harvey caused havoc in Texas by causing widespread power outages and destroying buildings. Harvey hit coastal Texas yesterday, moved inland, and then stopped. In an hour’s time, 3 to 4 inches of rainfall was reported in the affected region. Major flood condition is predicted by National Weather Service of 49 river locations across coastal Texas. Rising river water level is forcing administration to evacuate residents from towns. Residents of the Houston area are advised by local officials as well as National Weather Service to avoid traveling. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner reportedly said that the severe situation is expected to last for 4-5 days.
