More than 201 workers have died in an explosion at a coal mine in Turkey and hundreds of miners still remain trapped, according to media reports.
Authorities mentioned that 787 people were inside the mine at the time of the blast and more than 350 have been rescued. Energy Minister Taner Yildiz also said that about 80 of them were injured, with four being in a critical condition.
"Time is working against us," he said to the media after there were reports of another accident following the explosion. People were seen cheering and applauding on television as rescuers helped people come out of the mine.
