Huge mass of volcanic rocks discovered off New Zealand coast

A vast stretch of pumice rocks nearly the size of Belgium have been discovered floating off the coast of New Zealand.
The golf-ball size rocks were found 620 miles off the coast of Auckland and were spotted this week by a New Zealand air force plane.
The New Zealand Defence Force said the mass stretches across an area of about 10,000 square miles.
According to scientists, the rocks were likely spewed up in an eruption by an underwater volcano.
The eruption is not believed to be connected to the onshore ash eruption this week of another volcano, Mount Tongariro.
