Greece Reaches Preliminary Deal with International Creditors
May 2 , 2017
As per reports, Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos on Tuesday announced that Greece had reached a long-awaited deal with its international creditors.
The preliminary agreement clears the way for discussions on debt-relief which is sought by Greece’s leftist-led government.
The deal includes labour and energy reforms along with tax rises.
Now the country needs to legislate the new measures before the payout is approved by the euro zone finance ministers.
The next Eurogroup meeting is scheduled for May 22. Reducing Greece’s debt may also be discussed in the meeting.
