October 9 , 2014
World Bank President Jim Kim said the international response to the Ebola crisis has “failed miserably.”
Ebola cases have been reported in Spain and the US recorded its first death due to the deadly virus on Wednesday, October 8. Thomas Duncan, who was from Liberia, died in a hospital in Dallas.
Kim, in an interview to the Guardian, said the international community should back a new $20 billion health fund to react to emergencies instantly. He said the world community was not “moving fast enough.”
