George Floyd: Protesters Lit Blazing Fire Near White House as Tension Escalated With Police

  • In the United States, as tension escalated between protesters and police in the third night of the demonstration held in response to the death of George Floyd at Police hands in Minnesota, protesters started fires near White House. Around 11 pm in the night, curfew police fired a major barrage of tear gas stun grenades into the crowd of more than 1,000 people to disperse the crowd near Layfayette Park across the street from the White House. Protesters then piled up road signs and raging fire in the middle of H Street and lit the fire, throwing American flag into the blaze. Police says several individual protesters have been detained.
