Geneva: WHO Reports Record Daily in Confirmed Cases Globally; 307,930 in 24 Hours

As per the World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva, Switzerland, 307,930 infections have been confirmed globally within 24 hours. The figure is also the record single-day increase in global Coronavirus cases on Sunday. The previous highest record for new cases was 306,857 on September 6. Further, the agency reported a record of 12,430 fatalities on April 17. Globally the number of deaths rose by 5,537 in the same period to a total of 917,417. India recorded the second largest number of confirmed cases in the world. It recorded 94,372 new cases on Sunday, followed by the US with 45,523 and Brazil with 43,718. Apart from these, countries across Europe are also recording a rising number of daily cases amid fears of a revival of the virus.
