French president asks for a private life
January 12 , 2014
French President Francoise Hollande said he has the right to a private life like any other citizen. It was recently revealed that the 59-year-old was having an affair with actress Julie Gayet.
Hollande didn't deny the reports but isn't happy about the fact that his right to privacy was violated.
The leader was never married but was in a long-term relationship with Segolene Royal.
"In an era of mass violations of personal privacy, including widespread mining of French data revealed by Edward J. Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor, Mr. Hollande's appeal for confidentiality appears to have resonated in the country," reads the New York Times.
