France: Front National's Marine Le Pen slams father over Holocaust remarks
April 9 , 2015
The far-right Front National (FN) party in France is embroiled in a fight to the finish between Marine Le Pen, the party president, and her 86-year-old father Jean-Marie Le Pen, who co-founded the FN.
Slamming her father for his controversial anti-Semitic comments about the Holocaust and a French Nazi collaborator, Marine said Jean-Marie Le Pen’s “vulgar provocations” were aimed at damaging her and the “whole movement”.
With her increasing political acceptability within France, Marine is now seeking to permanently distance herself from her father’s legacy, and has indicated that he faces ouster from the FN.
