France: 10 killed in train crash near German border
November 15 , 2015
At least ten people were killed and more than 30 injured in a train crash near Strasbourg in France.
The train, which was travelling on the new Paris-Strasbourg line at Eckwersheim near the German border, derailed and caught fire, reports said.
Of those injured, 12 are said to be serious. Five people are still unaccounted for.
All those on the train were staff of the SNCF, France’s national railway operator. Initial reports suggest that excessive speed led to the accident.
