Forest Fire in Portugal: At least 62 Killed

An immense forest fire has been raging in central Portugal since June 17 and has till now claimed the lives of 62 people. As the Portugal Government has stated most of them died in their cars even as they attempted to escape from the scene. Antonio Costa, the Prime Minister of Portugal, has stated that this is perhaps the biggest such natural calamity, especially in terms of casualties. The affected region is Pedrogao Grande, a mountainous region that is around 200 km from Lisbon.
