Flooding continues as Germany and Hungary remain under water
June 10 , 2013
A dyke close to the German village of Rosenburg broke in the early hours of Sunday morning, flooding three nearby villages.
At least 15 people have been killed in the floods in Central Europe due to extended periods of heavy rain. Tens of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate the area.
Large parts of eastern Germany along the rivers Saale and Elbe remain flooded.
Much of the Hungarian capital, Budapest, is also under water after the Danube broke its banks.
Water levels are expected to recede over the course of the week though authorities have warned it will occur gradually.
