Federal police takes over security at Australia's house of parliament
September 20 , 2014
The Australian government has ordered the federal police to handle the security at the house of parliament after intelligence reports suggested potential threats by terror networks.
The move comes after police carried out one of their biggest counter-terrorism operations in Sydney.
Meanwhile, there have been protests against the police raids, with the Grand Mufti of Australia saying that Australians should not allow “bigots and media shock jocks” to weaken society’s cohesion.
