Farc guerrillas convicted by indigenous court in Colombia
November 10 , 2014
Seven Farc guerrillas have been convicted by a Colombian indigenous court for the murder of two tribe leaders, media reports say.
While five left-wing guerrillas got jail sentences ranging from 40 to 60 years, two will receive lashes.
The two Nasa tribe members were killed when they were removing posters linked to the Farc.
Tribal communities in Colombia have the right to decide legal cases in their areas as long as they don’t violate national laws.
