EU's labeling plans are discriminatory, says Israel

  • In a strongly worded letter to the European parliament president, Martin Schulz, Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu has hit out at EU plans to label products from Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories.

Netanyahu said the proposals were “discriminatory” and “emboldening” those seeking to “eliminate Israel”.

According to the proposals, which are supported by most EU governments, retailers would have to mark out products made in settlements differently from the ones originating in Israel.
