Eiffel Tower evacuated after phone threat
October 14 , 2013
Security forces cleared the Eiffel Tower after receiving a threat via telephone; an official refused to provide details.
The 324-meter high tower has already been threatened twice this year and it didn't reopen for the tourists until 5:30pm this time.
Although, the site is subject to regular bomb threats, its unusual for it to be fully evacuated.
About 30,000 people visit the tower each day during the summer season.
