Earthquake Reported Near Kairatu, Indonesia on Wednesday

  • On Thursday morning, around 8:46 am, an earthquake was reported from near Kairatu, in the eastern part of Indonesia. The intensity of the quake was measured at 6.5 on the Richter scale. As per the reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was 22 miles from Ambon and 37 miles from Amahai, Indonesia. Three people were reported killed in a building collapse in Ambon. In two weeks, two earthquakes have consecutively jolted Indonesia, with the earlier one having magnitude of 3.0.
