Delhi heads for fresh state elections in February
January 13 , 2015
The voters of Delhi will again cast their ballots to choose a new government next month after the key political parties were not able to form a state government for one year.
The Election Commission has declared February 7 as the day of voting in India's capital; the counting of votes will take place on February 10.
Opinion polls indicate that while the BJP, the party heading the coalition in the central government, is likely to get the most votes in the Delhi assembly elections, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party (Common Man’s Party) is the people's preferred choice for chief minister.
