Death toll from Wuhan Coronavirus increases to 304, First Death outside China Reported in Philippines

Data released by China’s National Health Commission shows that the total number of deaths from Wuhan coronavirus has increased to 304 and the total number of confirmed cases has shot to 14,380. The gravity of the coronavirus infection outbreak has surpassed that of the SARS outbreak of 2002-03. China’s official Xinhua News Agency has reported that 6 officials in the Huanggang city (beside Hubei province’s Wuhan) have been fired for their poor performance while handling the coronavirus outbreak. Meanwhile, the first death from the coronavirus outside mainland China has taken place in the Philippines. The Philippines Department of Health has stated that a 44-year old person (hailing from Hubei province’s Wuhan city) has died after developing severe pneumonia in a Manila hospital.
