Colombia: Farc guerrillas bomb new section of Tansandino oil pipeline
June 30 , 2015
Farc rebels have targeted a new section of a Colombian oil pipeline just a week after an attack that led to a massive oil spill.
In the latest attack, a bomb blew up a section of southern Colombia’s Tansandino pipeline in Putumayo province. The oil spill was, however, minor as the pipeline was not active at that time.
Last week’s attack by the Farc guerrillas, which spilled over 10,000 oil barrels into water bodies in Nariño province, is being described as one of the worst environmental disasters in the country’s history.
