Cocaine found in backpacks in Spain
February 5 , 2014
Spanish authorities found one ton of cocaine kept in 37 backpacks along the Mediterranean coast.
The backpacks used in the undersea smuggling operation were equipped with floatation devices in order to keep them below the surface while preventing them from sinking.
Investigators had been tracking the smugglers since May and reports suggest that five people have been arrested in the case.
Apart from the arrests, three vehicles, $97k, and a vessel has been seized in the raids.
