Climate change index: Australia ranked worst performer
December 9 , 2014
Australia has been ranked as the worst performer among industrial countries this year when it comes to climate change.
A report by Germanwatch and CAN Europe says the country’s ranking was partly due to policy decisions made by the Tony Abbott government.
The climate change performance index is a ranking of climate policies and emissions of the world’s 58 highest emitters of CO2.
Denmark was ranked the best performer, with Sweden and Britain coming second and third respectively. Saudi Arabia is at the bottom of the list.
