September 29 , 2017
Amidst international criticism pertaining to North Korea's recent sixth and powerful nuclear test, China has ordered North Korean companies to shut down. As per the website of China's Ministry of Commerce, “enterprises involving North Korean entities must shut down completely.” This move by China is in light of recent United Nations sanctions pertaining to the reclusive state. On September 11, the United Nations Security Council voted unanimously for fresh sanctions. Amidst the UN sanctions, joint ventures between North Korea and China will also be forced to close.
