China: More Than 100 Million People Gathered in Tourist Sites in "Golden Week"

According to China’s culture and tourism ministry, around 104 million people gathered at domestic tourism sites during China’s holiday week amid the pandemic. The first four days of the holiday have been marked as a “golden week” by state-run news agency Xinhua on Tuesday. As per the Ministry, Xinhua said the gatherings would create around $6 billion in revenue. Tuesday is the last day of the golden week. China is the epicentre of Coronavirus, but at present, the country got its outbreak under control and is returning to normal life. However, on Tuesday, May 5, China has reported 16 new Coronavirus cases, including 15 asymptomatic ones. Though, it is still less in number as the country has witnessed thousands of cases per day in the past. China has more than 83,000 Coronavirus cases, including 4,637 deaths.
