China, Japan to Strengthen Trade Ties after US's Strict Tariff Schemes

  • Last year the two biggest Asian economies, China and Japan, vowed to start afresh their somewhat touchy relationship. After both of their trade relations got tensed with the US, the foreign ministers of both the economies have begun the economic talks. These talks have ended the dry spell of eight years of trade-related interactions between the two countries.Between the US and China, both the countries have threatened each other with imposing huge tariffs. Japan has come under criticism from the US president Trump on trade practices. It has already been hit with the tariff on aluminium and steel. However, Japan has not threatened the US with any counter-tariffs.
