China concerned by Australia-U.S. military ties
May 15 , 2012
China has raised concerns over increasing military ties between Australia and the U.S., according to Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr while on a visit to Beijing.
His comments come after the U.S. recently began rotating troops through bases in Australia.
China is one of Australia’s major trading partners but its key security ties lie with the U.S.
Carr said U.S. presence in the region had helped support stability, adding he would like to see more co-operation in defence with China.
