Charleston killings: Nine victims remembered as black church reopens
June 22 , 2015
The names of the victims of the Charleston shootings were read out at the Emanuel AME church during its first service after last week’s massacre.
A black cloth was put over the chair of the reverend, Clementa Pinckney, one of the nine victims of the lone gunman who carried out the South Carolina killings.
Reverend Gillison said that the “devil” had entered the Emanuel AME church but failed to “take control” of the church.
Meanwhile, US police are looking at an online post linked to the suspect Dylann Roof to ascertain possible motives for targeting the historic black church.
