Cathay Pacific flight diverted to Alaska after smoke in aircraft

A Cathay Pacific flight heading to Los Angeles, US, had to be diverted to a military airport in Alaska after the plane filled with smoke, according to airline officials.
All 276 passengers and 18 crew on board the Boeing 777-300ER, which had started from Hong Kong, are safe.
The emergency landing at Shemya’s Eareckson air station in Alaska went according to plan, reports said. The reason for the smoke has not yet been ascertained.
