September 30 , 2013
Around 40 people have been killed and 90 people have been wounded in a car bomb blast on a busy street of Peshawar's oldest bazaar. As per officials, this was the third bomb in a week to hit the distressed city. The explosion was caused by a bomb placed in a parked car, which was detonated by remote control. It went off damaging nearby houses, shops and vehicles near a mosque and a police station. Since last Sunday, over 140 people have lost their lives in such incidents, when two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a church, killing around 85 people and on Friday, around 19 people died in a bomb blast on a bus carrying govt employees. No one has claimed the responsibility for this attack so far. However, the Sunni militant group Jundullah claims responsibility for the church attack.
