California Wildfires lead to Record Evacuation in over 25 Years

  • There are 9 raging California wildfires burning in the Golden State. The authorities have ordered at least 50,000 people to evacuate. Electricity will be cut for millions of people as the largest utility of the state Pacific Gas & Electric has said that they have begun blackout 940,000 homes and businesses for the coming 48 hours or even longer in 36 countries. This means that this time, around 90,000 additional customers are going to be adversely affected by this massive power cut. With severe winds expected to sweep the places, the entire communities of Healdsburg and Windsor have been ordered by the administration for evacuation. The Sheriff's Office of Sonoma County said that it is going to be the largest such evacuation in over 25 years.  Reports say that “the winds are expected anywhere between 8 p.m. and midnight”.
