Bus Attacked by Taliban in Afghanistan

  • A bus has been ambushed by the Taliban in northern Afghanistan. The hostages consist of more than 100 people which also include women and children. The attacks happened despite the announcement by Ashraf Ghani, the Afghan President, that a cease-fire has been established with the Taliban this week during Eid al-Adha holiday. According to the officials, the insurgents stopped 3 buses near Khan Abad district and then forced the passengers to follow them. They have stated that “So far, there is no news on the fate of the passengers, but tribal elders and local officials are trying to negotiate with the Taliban.”
