Burkina Faso Twin Terror Attack, 16 Killed and 80 Injured

  • Gunmen launched twin attack on French embassy and army headquarters in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. Reports say 80 people (including civilians) are wounded and 16 people (including 8 security personnel and 8 attackers) are dead. Security Minister of Burkina Faso, Clement Sawadogo, said that the miscreants must have targeted the military headquarter as there was a scheduled regional meeting on anti-terrorism. The car bomb blast destroyed a room in the military HQ and consequently the meeting was moved to another location. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves le Drian called it an act of terrorism.
